Essay 2 Topic

For my directions essay, I will be writing about how to change a flat tire. I am doing directions on this because I feel that it is a skill that everybody should know how to do. You never know when you are going to have a flat tire, and not everybody has AAA. These directions will be geared towards the auto owner rather than the auto mechanic.

Where's The Bus?!

"Where's the bus?" is such a common question on the Bridgewater State University campus. For many years now, Brockton Area Transit Authority (BAT) and Bridgewater State University have teamed up to provide a shuttle service since the addition of the East side. Students love the bus service, especially in the cold, rain, snow, wind, etc. The one problem is that nobody ever seems to know where the bus actually is and how long they are going to be waiting for the bus to get to their stop. This however has been changed! All of the buses have been equipped with new GPS monitors that can monitor the location of the bus that you're looking for! The document I analyzed explains how to use this cool new feature. The document is simply titled "Where's the Bus?", and gives people the instructions on how to find the bus. This particular document shows all of the stops, their respected numbers, and the number to text in order to find the location. The document gives an example of texting "Ridebat 308" to 41411. This example gives the estimated time of arrival for the bus at the Hooper Street Lot. This service has already cut down the amount of calls the office receives about the location of the buses, and has even seemed to increase some ridership! The document also provides a QR code to scan with a smartphone in order to have access to a map that will show where they are in real time, just in-case texting isn't really for you. One last thing that this document provides is the QR code for the BSU Transit Facebook page. This page provides up-to-date announcements on service status and closings. This document will hopefully continue to greatly impact the campus and it's students and faculty/staff as a whole. The more ridership that transit has, the better the service they can provide! So remember, if the bus is there, Ride It!!
